A night out in Orange County

-- Modo Mio Cucina Rustica -- Located in Crystal Cove (also with another location in Pacific Palisades), this Italian restaurant's small intimate dining room is welcoming, as is their staff. It's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu, as all the offerings are good. From the appetizers to the main courses, there is plenty to please everyone's taste buds.

-- Duke's -- Duke's has a great Hawaiian menu boasting fresh seafood and a beautiful view of Huntington Beach. Located right beside Huntington Beach pier, Duke's combines a casual atmosphere with delicious food. For dinner, try their specialty Parmesan and macadamia nut crusted fish, or a couple of my favorites, the huli huli chicken or mango bbq ribs. And for those so inclined, Duke's also has the Barefoot Bar with happy hour specials and a nice Sunday brunch.

-- Splashes -- Within the Surf and Sand Resort in Laguna Beach is this wonderful casual yet elegant beach-front restaurant. This is the perfect place to grab a cocktail and watch the sunset. Add one of the wonderful dessert creations into the mix and you are set for a nice relaxing evening. For those inclined for a meal, the chefs have obviously put some effort into creating their interesting coastal american menu with offerings that include forest mushroom wellington, grilled beef tenderloin with horseradish gnochhi and Parmesan-crusted salmon with Tahitian Vanilla sauce.
