Las Vegas is becoming a foodie mecca, with many world-reknown chefs opening up restaurants on the Strip, once they've tackled the LA or NYC food scenes. Unfortunately I've yet to try most of these, so until I do, here's a few hidden gems that may not have the famous name attached, but tantalize the tastebuds just the same.
Double Stuffed Potato Spring Rolls, Grand Lux Cafe
-- Nine Fine Irishmen -- Located in the New York-New York casino, this restaurant has a great lively atmosphere and a sampling of Irish specialties. Try the Sausage appetizer - it comes with mustard and Guinness dipping sauces, the Colcannon soup or Traditional Bangers and Mustard Mashed Potatoes.

-- Cheeseburger Restaurants -- Founded by two Southern California women and started with numerous locations in Hawaii, there's now a location at the Planet Hollywood Hotel in Vegas. Cheeseburger Restaurants have mouthwatering cheeseburgers - you can't go wrong with any of them - and delicious fries and onion rings to match.

--Grand Lux Cafe -- Grand Lux Cafe is a new venture from the person behind Cheesecake Factory, after the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas asked to create an upscale casual eatery for their resort. Now there is also a second location next door in the Palazzo Resort. They have excellent brunch and of course desserts, following in the footsteps of their predecessor. The restaurant is a fusion of American, European and brasserie.

They produce high quality chocolates and truffles under the names Ethel M's Chocolates and Ethel's Chocolates. Visiting their factory is a must do for chocolate lovers. Their factory is located in Henderson outside of Las Vegas, with a self-guided tour, store and botanical cactus garden outside.
